RDML Burns joins DAIVIN! as Senior Advisor!

We’re pleased to welcome Rear Admiral Matthew Burns , U.S. Navy (Ret.) as Senior Advisor to DAIVIN! (YC W26)

Rear Admiral Burns served more than three decades in Naval Special Warfare and Joint Special Operations, rising from an enlisted Navy SEAL to Rear Admiral through the Navy’s Seaman-to-Admiral program - a rare path in the U.S. military.

His career includes leadership roles as Commander of Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU), Assistant Commander & Director of Operations at Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), and Joint Task Force Commander at U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

Beginning his career as a SEAL operator and later leading some of the most demanding units in special operations, he brings decades of firsthand experience from maritime and diving operations, where breathing systems, survivability, and equipment reliability are mission-critical.
